SUMMER 2024 EXHIBITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Aela B. Morgan
May 24 - June 30
Slate Gray Gallery is excited to present a solo exhibition of works by Aela Morgan. This will be Aela's first show with the gallery. Aela is a citizen of the world who currently maintains a studio practice in Telluride. Her works are her personal responses to the biting reality of human existence and all its beauties and atrocities. Featured in this exhibition is a series of small but powerful works on paper that Aela made in response to the attacks on Israel in October, 2023.

Join us at the gallery for the exhibition opening reception on Thursday, June 6th, from 5 - 8pm. Aela will be present, and light refreshments will be served.

Joesph Toney
August 1 - September 1
Slate Gray Gallery is excited to host an exhibition of new work by Joseph Toney, a Utah artist with an illustrative painting style that reimagines the landscape, mostly mountains, in a contemporary and often geometric way. Joseph is well known for his black and white ink renderings of the mountains, but more recently, he has been experimenting with color and materials. Most notably, he has expanded his practice beyond his studio and the confines of a canvas by creating large-scale murals. The artist will be in the gallery from July 26 - 29, painting directly on the gallery walls to produce a site-specific, one of a kind work of art.

Join us at the opening reception on Thursday, August 1st from 5 - 8pm to meet the artist and see the completed mural.

The gallery presents Bio Amazonica, a joint pop-up exhibition featuring the black and white photography of Dora Frias Martinelli shown alongside the contemporary jewelry designs of her mother, Sandra Frias. Both artists will be visiting Telluride from Brazil and are each uniquely inspired by the wonders of the Amazon Rainforest.
