Kathryn Tatum is a longtime resident of Telluride and Taos, NM. Her artistic process can be thought of as a fusion of Asian materials and philosophies with modern western paints and applications. Each of her paintings starts as a Sumi Ink drawing on rice paper and is then mounted to canvas and finished with acrylic paints and interference metallic colors. These high elevation paintings capture the unique light found above tree line and are multidimensional and light reflective.
