The temperature value of this painting is so pleasant; I feel it shows the beginning of a beautiful day. The yellow along the mountains could be the beginning or end of a day, the sun rising or falling. The palette runs from yellow up to the top to a darker palette with purples and blues, getting deeper in the atmosphere like our own infinite and unknown sky. A surprise of green and yellow towards the top reflects the yellow in the horizon line above the mountain silhouette. The mountains are there to ground the painting and tie it to the atmosphere.
