The way the sun sets in December and January leaves Telluride's box canyon cloaked in shadow from 4pm onwards. Step into Slate Gray Gallery from December 19th – February 2nd to view "Color Infatuation: A Group Show featuring Marshall Noice" and experience the myriad ways artists celebrate color. Featured is a new body of work from Marshall Noice inspired by the mountains around Telluride, alongside new selections from Slate Gray's talented pool of artists.
"Sometimes all it takes for me to begin a painting is the notion that one color might look interesting next to another color. But recently I came across a group of pastel sketches I’d done on one of my dozens of trips to Telluride. And I decided it was about time I explored the Colorado landscape a bit more specifically. The pantings in these, my newest works, are about my enduring infatuation with color. But more than that, they are my exhalation of what are, certainly, some of the most iconic landscapes in the American West." – Marshall Noice
Join us in the gallery for the exhibition opening and first Art Walk of 2025 on Thursday, January 2nd, from 5 - 8pm. Marshall Noice will be in attendance, and refreshments will be served.
