Slate Gray Gallery is excited to offer a selection of new work by Utah artist Joseph Toney. 
Toney is known for his illustrative painting style, marked by clean lines and transfixing patterns, and his way of reimagining landscapes through painstaking attention to detail. His newest body of work, the first available through the gallery in more than a year, includes six original paintings and a selection of limited edition prints.

Though he is best known for his black and white style, Joseph has worked with color for many years in his large-scale murals and design work. These two paintings represent some of his first experiments bringing saturated color tones onto the canvas.

Also available are works from Joseph's newest evaporation series. In an effort to use processes and materials that reflect our changing environment, the artist lets puddles of Sumi ink evaporate away over many hours. He then applies color to help define the evaporations. The result is a mesmerizing call to attention of how reservoirs and lakes in the West are drying up.

Limited Edition Prints Available!
This print is a unique composite of three paintings. Each print is composed of several hand-applied layers of acrylic spray and liquid silver and finished with hand-torn deckled edges. After all editions are sold, the print will never be produced again.
